Joe worked with Bob Tisch for many years on his Tisch Tax Cuts Campaigns.  His Tax Cut Campaigns began to lose support when the Political Establishment called for a news blackout.  Tom Green, once of WJR news bought lunch for Bob Tisch and Joe in Lansing one day and told us of his dismissal from WJR.  His newscast one day included mention of Bob Tisch.  After the broadcast, Mr. Green was called in and asked why he had reported on Bob Tisch.   Green said that "Bob Tisch is news.   I am a news reporter I report the news."   Green was fired on the spot and told to clean out his desk and leave.
