George Zimmer

I am prolife, active in church, a veteran, married with two adult sons and a firm believer in small government.
My campaign is self funded and beholden to no one but God.

US Taxpayer Party candidate for US congress Michigan 4th district.

The two major parties are doing a lousy job. We are continuously increasing our national debt and always seem to be at war with someone. September 11th 2001 was perpetrated by Saudis but we made war with Iraq.. The ATF, FBI, CIA, and NSA, knew of the potential problem and the 17 terrorists were in the country on illegal and/or expired visas. No one was fired.

Entitlement programs are expensive and produce little good. Jobs are still being exported and foreigners given visas to occupy positions for which supposedly no American can fill  ."They work cheap"

Our prisons are full but the ten commandments, prayer of any sort, time to meditate, or any mention of God is prohibited in public schools. We are like lemmings herded by an increasingly larger and stronger federal government on their one way trip to the sea.

Congress talks finance in large numbers such as billions, trillions, quadrillions etc. When I was in third grade, my grandfather showed me how to read the financial section of the  newspaper. I learned that the US dollar was worth 4 German marks. He then showed me
a ten billion mark bill and had me do the arithmetic. I said "grandpa we are rich". He then explained that in 1922 the banknote was insufficient to buy a loaf of bread. I am afraid that we are getting into this situation. The money printing press in never the answer to inflation.  By the way, each language has a word for a billion. In the USA and France it is a one followed by 9 zeros. In England and Germany it is a 1 followed by 12 zeros. I wonder how many politicians realize this.

I propose that we create a new dollar which would take the place of ten old dollars. This would make financial numbers more understandable and resolve the problem of our coins being worth more melted down than what they represent. It would pave the way back to gold and silver backing our currency as our founding fathers reasoned. Paper money is worth about $90 a ton.

The federal reserve system must be audited and either reformed or eliminated all together.  Corporate tax must be lowered and loopholes eliminated. The tax structure is too cumbersome.

Republicans ignore the environment. Democrats want cap and trade which solves nothing and is one big potential mess, a utopia for chicanery.

I have experience in heavy industry, retail sales, and three different government agencies.  I believe that I could better than other major party candidates.
